Madhya Pradesh - Sub Region
Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) is being developed along the Multi-modal High Axle Load,
Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) Project between Delhi and Mumbai covering an
overall length of 1483 Kms. DMIC spans across six states- Haryana, Uttar
Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat ,Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. The vision of DMIC
is to create strong economic base with globally competitive environment and
state- of - the- art infrastructure to activate local trade and industry,
enhance foreign investment and attain sustainable development. Project goals of
DMIC are - double employment potential in
five years, triple industrial outputs in five years, and quadruple exports from
the region in five years.
Project Influence area in M.P.
Ten Districts of the State viz. Neemuch, Mandsaur, Ratlam, Jhabua, Dhar,Indore,
Dewas, Ujjain, Shajapur, and Rajgarh, are covered in 58,562 Sq. Kms. of Project
influence area which is 19.01 percent of the total area of Madhya Pradesh
Investment Nodes -
As per DMIC concept plan approved by the Government of India, four Investment
Nodes are proposed in Madhya Pradesh, which are as follows:-

Pithampur-Dhar-Mhow Investment Region

Ratlam-Nagda Investment Region

Shajapur-Dewas Industrial Area
-
Neemuch-Nayagaon Industrial Area.
Framework for DMIC:
At GOI Level:
1 .An Apex Monitoring Authority
headed by Union Finance Minister with the concerned Central Ministers and Chief
Ministers of DMIC States as Members to overview the entire program and to ensure
that the necessary policy and administrative issues are tackled appropriately.
2. A Dedicated Corporate Entity - Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor Development
Corporation Limited, under Ministry of Commerce & Industry to coordinate
execution of various tasks under the guidance of Apex Authority to arrange
financing and provide advisory services for successful project implementation.
Government of India holds 49% equity in the Company and rest 51% equity is held
by financial institutions. Secretary (DIPP) is the Chairman of Board of
Directors.
At the State Level:
(i) Steering Committee under the
Chairmanship of Hon'ble Chief Minister for monitoring and clearances.
(ii)
Empowered Committee
constituted under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary for coordination among
various departments/agencies, day to day approvals / clearances, etc.
(iii)
Monitoring Committee
for HUDCO Lone for DMIC Project.
(iv) Madhya Pradesh Trade and Investment Facilitation Corporation Limited
(TRIFAC), is nominated as Nodal Agency for DMIC Project in M.P. by the State
Government
Project Management Consultant (PMC)
PMC for Pithampur-Dhar-Mhow investment Node has been appointed by Delhi-Mumbai
industrial Corridor Development Corporation Limited (DMICDC), while for
remaining 3 investment nodes. IL&FS Infrastructure Development Corporation
Limited (IIDC) has been appointed by MPTRIFAC as "Project Management Consultant"
(PMC).
Development Plan for Pithampur-Dhar-Mhow Investment Region
The Development Plan for this Investment Region has been prepared.The Empowered
Committee has approved and finalized the following four 'early bird
projects', under this investment node:-
(1) Knowledge City in District Ujjain.
448 hectares of land has been identified for this project, out of which 218
hectare is Government land and remaining 230 hectare is private land. 172 hectare of Government land has already been
transferred. Acquisition of private land is underway Development of
clusters of world class institutions for Higher education, Technical education,
Vocational Training etc.is proposed in Knowledge City. SPV Company for this project has
already been registered under the Companies Act.for more details
(2) Multimodal Logistic Hub near Pithampur.
This facility is proposed to be located adjacent to NH-3 and proposed
Indore-Dahod railway line. 178 hectare of land has been identified for MMLH, out
of which 162 hectare is private land. Transfer of Government land and
acquisition of private land in underway Under MMLH facilities, such railway
siding, container freight station, warehousing, truck terminal etc. will be

(3) Economic Corridor from Indore Airport to Pithampur.
The total length of proposed corridor is 20.3 Kms. Information Technology
Enterprises, Non-polluting industries, Tourism and Commercial Infrastructure
etc., are proposed to be developed in this corridor.

(4) Water Supply and Waste Water Disposal, Pithampur.
Project for Water Supply and Waste Water Management for Pithampur Industrial
Area is proposed to be developed. The project will have water supply (90MLD)
from Mahi Dam Project. The project will be implemented under PPP and State Level
Empowered committee (SLEC) for PPP projects has already accorded approval.

Purpose Vehicle Companies, constituted for each project.
BETMA- PITHAMPUR INDUSTRIAL CLUSTER
Under Phase-I of Greenfield Integrated Township proposed in Pithampur-Dhar-Mhow Investment Region, the above facility in 1043 Ha. is being developed near existing Pithampur Industrial Growth Center. Acquisition of private land(805 Ha) and transfer of Government land (238 Ha) is underway.for more details
Ratlam-Nagda Investment Region.
The Empowered Committee has directed first to take up the work of Ratlam- Nagda
Investment Region amongst the three remaining Investment Nodes. Lea Associates
South Asia Private Limited, New Delhi has been appointed Consultant to prepare
Development Plan for this Investment Region.The following Early Bird Projects
for this Investment region have been identified
1. Power Equipment Manufacturing Hub, District Rajgarh.
2. Food Park, District Neemuch.
3. Economic Corridor on Ratlam-Nagda/Ratlam-Sailana Road.
4. Water Supply Project based on Mahi Dam (Labria) and (Kaneri Dam).
5. Industrial Park, District Jhabua.
6. Textile Park, District Neemuch.
Development Plan for this Investment region is under preparation and likely to
be completed by March 2012.
